Chris Speck is a writer and musician from East Yorkshire in the UK. His latest book, Avenue Cars Three: Faceman, is a present day gangland coming of age story set it Hull. Like always, the characters aren't what you'd expect from crime novels. Avenue Cars Four will be out in 2025. It'll be the last one. The prequel to North Sea Tale, This Dark Water will be out in Oct 2024. Set early in World War I, it sees stricken Hull trawler, the Kestrel, hunted across the North Sea by SM U-19, a German U-boat. Chris spent his twenties travelling the world, first as a guitar teacher, and then teaching English in countries as diverse as Hungary, Spain and Papua New Guinea, before returning to the flat lands of East Yorkshire. He also plays washboard in the legendary skiffle group, Black Kes.
