Chris Wichtendahl was born in 1971 among the rapidly developing suburban landscape of northern New Jersey. Blessed with an overactive imagination and a strong aversion to paying attention to what was in front of him, Chris was never at a loss for fantastic worlds and characters with which to populate them. After attending only two years of the three-year program offered by the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, Chris realized that art was not the best expression for his ideas, turning then to the written word. He couldn't leave narrative art too far behind, however, and has collaborated with many talented artists on a number of comic projects, in both web and print formats. An abundance of ideas led to the creation of the Spontaneous Fiction blog, where Chris posted the short stories that would eventually lead to his writing novels, many of which are available on this site, with more to follow. A proud New Jersey native, Chris currently lives with his family mere minutes from his birthplace.
