The first vehicle I ever loved was the bookmobile I visited as a child. There was one book I always checked out, I can't remember the name, about a ladybug who loved to go to the library. There was nothing better than picking up a story and finding myself in another place and meeting new people. And as a teenager, writing became a lifeline for me. It saved me. I could create a new family for myself, have friends, I could--or at least my characters could--live a life that had hope and possibilities. I've been writing since then, taking breaks now and then as like with everything priorities at times need to shift, but I always come back to it. It's like my first love and one that allowed me to grow, dream, and hope. My first novel, Parental Source, was a 2003 Library of Virginia Literary award nominee (now out of print). Whether it's a mystery or an inspirational romantic suspense, my books usually involve some sort of crime where the main characters are determined to see those wrongs righted and save those that need help.
