Occasionally there has been reflection on how this started and how it came to be a book. At first there was just the urge to write something to send in a note to family. After some years it became apparent it was the Holy Spirit planting the seeds for each note, and then sitting with me to write the words as He needed each to be told. Still, each goes out wrapped in the hope and the prayer that I got it right. When approached about doing a book, it seemed this random collection of notes would not make a viable book. Then, after putting it together, I could see the threads he had created – stories of living our faith. It became apparent this was his plan all along. Why he picks such unworthy people to do his work is a mystery, but it seems this is how Jesus picked his workers all along. In John 1:27, John the Baptist speaks of this, "The strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie." And now here am I, rejoicing in this he has given me to do for him. David Weber is a father of four, and grandfather of three. His parents are in their late 80's, still very active and an inspiration to the entire family. He has four brothers, 12 nieces and nephews, and nine grand nieces and nephews. He, and his wife Marilyn, live in Michigan and are members of St. Patrick's Church in White Lake Township, active in a number of ministries serving the church and the community. He is the Accounting and HR Manager for a small company and has worked for a variety of small companies over the years, usually as Controller or CFO. He started writing eight years ago, compelled to write the thoughts that would only be at peace once written. Each of these writings became a note sent as an email to family and friends. His book, Words From My Father, is the collection of those notes, and the date in each title is the date it was sent. David Weber
