Emile Ndahunga was born on March 7, 1992, in the serene village of Rulimbi in the Ruzizi Plain of Uvira Territory, South Kivu province, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is the third child in a family of seven children. Emile’s early years were shaped by the picturesque landscape of the Ruzizi Plain, nestled between the Mitumba mountain chain and the Ruzizi River, bordering Burundi and Rwanda. His parents, relying on farming and animal husbandry, worked hard to provide for the entire family. Tragedy struck when Emile was just ten years old, as the civil war engulfed the region, forcing his family to flee their home in Mutarule, Ruzizi Plain. Crossing the dangerous Ruzizi River in 2002, they sought refuge in Burundi, a country in East Africa. Emile’s resilience during this tumultuous time was tested as his family lived in three refugee sites—Rugombo, Kishemere, and Karurama—in the Cibitoke province of Burundi until late 2004. In October 2004, a turning point came when the UNHCR, The UN Refugee Agency, extended assistance to Emile’s family. They were subsequently relocated to Rwanda through the Ruhwa border, along with other Congolese refugees. This marked the beginning of a new chapter for Emile and his family as they navigated the challenges of rebuilding their lives in a foreign land. Despite the hardships, Emile’s spirit remained unbroken. Growing up in a Christian community, he found solace in faith and witnessed the resilience of people who, like his family, sought refuge in the church. These experiences forged Emile’s character, instilling a deep sense of compassion and determination. After enduring 18 years as a refugee, Emile Ndahunga arrived in America in August 2020 as a Congolese Refugee from the Nyabiheke refugee camp, where he had been since May 2005. He and his family were settled in Salt Lake City, Utah, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Today, Emile Ndahunga founded the Cross Power Generation Ministries (The Alliance) church plant in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passionately focuses his teachings on the transformative power of the cross, hosting the annual “America Bring Your Laundry” conference, inspired by Revelation 7:14, with the aim of making a global spiritual impact. Emile Ndahunga’s life journey reflects the indomitable human spirit in the face of adversity. From the tranquil landscapes of Ruzizi Plain to the challenges of displacement, Emile’s story is one of resilience, hope, and the transformative power of faith.
