Emily K. Karlewicz was born in King George, VA, and grew up in an extremely theatrical family. In 2008, she graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory with a BFA in Musical Theatre, and spent three years traveling with the world renowned Missoula Children's Theatre. While on the road, she was inspired by the landscape outside her window, and began writing her first novel, Lightscape. With the encouragement of her husband and mother, she completed Lightscape in less than a year, and is now busy at work writing the second installment in her Lightscape Trilogy. Emily spends her days reading, writing, and teaching children in the fields of dance, acting, and voice. She lives in Colonial Beach, VA with her husband, 2 children, and a small zoo of pets.
