Frank Verstraete graduated as a veterinarian at the University of Gent. He pursued his graduate studies at the University of Pretoria. He is a Diplomate of the AVDC and the ECVS, as well as a Charter Diplomate of the EVDC. He is also an AVDC Founding Certificate Holder in Zoo and Wildlife Dentistry and an AVDC Founding Fellow in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Since the end of 1994, Professor Verstraete is affiliated with the University of California at Davis, where he currently is Professor of Dentistry and Oral Surgery. His main research interests are comparative oral pathology, diagnostic imaging and surgery. He has authored two books including “Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Dogs and Cats” and well over 120 publications.
