Heather’s life was Never Dull! She intended to follow in her family’s footsteps and become a world champion cowgirl. However, a teacher encouraged her to pursue aviation. Even though only 1% of airline pilots were female, she was undeterred. She spent ten years as a civilian pilot before joining the military, where her call sign was Notso, suggesting she was not so sharp. She brushed it off and graduated top C130 pilot training. In 1997, she got married and moved to Alaska after landing an airline job flying the 747 worldwide. As the mother of two young boys, she miraculously survived two near-fatal accidents. Seven years of hard fought recovery later, she returned to flying, only to discover a loved one’s struggle with alcohol. After four treatments and countless prayers, he is sober today. Praise God! After 38 years as a pilot, she retired and is now a motivational speaker and award-winning author, emphasizing the importance of faith, family, and a positive attitude.
