Hiram Taylor has written twenty-eight plays, which have been produced in New York City, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and other cities. His first big success at 19 was MEMBERS which won the Bultman Playwriting Award and was produced Off-Broadway. He lived in NYC where he was the co-founder and artistic director of the Taymon Welsh Theatre Company. He has three books of his plays published, LOUISIANA PLAYS, DEMONS IN HELL AND OTHER STRANGE PLAYS, A PHOENIX RISING AND OTHER PLAYS. A novella SECRET SOCIETY OF SAINT MYSTIC was published in 2007.. He has numerous short stories published in magazines over the years. He lives in New Orleans, where he staged five of his plays on local stages. He produced the independent film CONNECTIONS and directed four independent documentaries. He is active in Mardi Gras Krewes and has won four awards for his float designs and paintings.
