James K. Isaac was born and raised in Lewisham, London, spending his youth at play among the dense, vibrant, and sometimes challenging streets. On mischievous voyages of urban exploration, he found quiet corners to play gamebooks and read Dragonlance novels. He has an MA in Ancient History and knows a few obscure things while misunderstanding many more, apparently, obvious things. James has always appreciated cats, animals of great character. He has travelled much of Europe, East Africa, and China, worked on a kibbutz in Israel, and worked at the famous ‘First Emperor’ exhibit in the British Museum. Living in China for a few years, he taught and lectured on English and Mythology before returning to London to continue teaching. A little whiskey, a bit more wine, too much coffee, sandwiches, and boxing are among his hobbies, though his greatest passion is for stories in any form. He has had several stories published in fantasy and sci-fi magazines and collections, including Analog Science Fiction and Fact, July/August 2014. He has self-published his own short story collection. He also creates interactive fiction and story-based computer games. All of these can be found on the web under James K.
