Latest news: OH, DEAR! I listed my books in My Turtle Trilogy yesterday, and something went wrong. My Custer book is listed as #1 in my Turtle Trilogy. They really go like this: #1 is A Three-Turtle Summer (Grace has a problem with her abusive husband). #2 is As Brown As I Want, The Indianhead Diaries (Glory's father is trying to kill her for the insurance money) #3 is my Custer book (Grace and her sisters are in their senior years and have a whole new set of problems). Strange I'm having another problem with this book. Usually, people think there's something dirty in my Custer book because the flower (dare I mention it?) sounds dirty to censors. The name ties into the whole plot, so I can't just change it to "sunflower", for instance. I'm out of time today. "Tomorrow's another day," as Scarlett said... 11-12-23-The AudioBook version of Geronimo's Laptop is now available! Recorded by one of the top voices in audio books, Jim D. Johnston, it's a wonderful "listen". Available wherever audio books are sold (I just saw it at Barnes & Noble). Geronimo's Laptop is a historical fantasy in which I use a laptop to enable Geronimo to go backward and forward in Apache history. The history part is true. The laptop that Geronimo uses is the fantasy part. That said, I am not a historian, but a novelist. This book will entertain young and old as it tells the history of Geronimo and the Apache people. Suitable for all. I hope you all get a chance to read it when it comes out. Geronimo's Laptop is an extension of the play that I wrote, Geronimo, Life on the Reservation starring Rudy Ramos (High Chaparral, Yellowstone, and more) and directed by Steve Railsback. This play, in 2021, was recognized as one of The Los Angeles Times 19 Culture Picks. Author Awards: 1999 1st place fiction, Surrey (Canada), for As Brown As I Want, The Indianhead Diaries 2002 Bold Media Award for fiction, 1st place, for A Three-Turtle Summer 2004 Oklahoma Book Award finalist for As Brown as I Want: The Indianhead Diaries 2021 Los Angeles Times picked my show, Geronimo, Life on the Reservation as one of its 19 Cultural Picks.
