Jeff Wallace lives with his family in southwestern Virginia. He is the author of three deeply researched historical suspense novels. In 'The Man Who Walked Out of the Jungle,' the backdrop is 1970 Saigon, where military police investigator George Tanner observes the city's seething corruption, the turmoil of US troop-reductions underway, and--unfolding in the background--the invasion of Cambodia. This is tough-guy suspense fiction, no less precise to the history. Tanner enlists his Vietnamese contacts to discover the identity of a mysterious figure killed deep in the rain forest. 'Rapidan' opens in September 1862, as a wounded Confederate officer, having finished the first stage of his convalescence at the Chimborazo Army Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, moves to a private residence for the second stage. Here he finds himself under the care of twenty-year-old Anna Van Meer, who to his surprise proves vehemently opposed to the Southern cause. So why does she tend to a wounded Confederate? And what is the secret she protects? 'Rapidan' is a fast-moving suspense tale and love story. Released in late July 2024, 'The Thousand-Year Spy' is an intrigue-brimming historical suspense novel set in World War II England, Sweden, and Germany.
