Marriage is the most important horizontal relationship you can have. Jerry McColgin wants to help you make it all that God intends it to be. Jerry McColgin was born in Westfield, Indiana in 1961. The youngest of four brothers, Jerry was raised on a farm by parents that were married for over 70 years at the time of his mother's death. Jerry became an engineer and worked in corporate life for fifteen years where he gained global responsibilities and traveled the world for business. Deciding to settle down to become more of a family man, Jerry left corporate life to start his own consulting business. In this capacity, he began analyzing the unmet needs of consumers and converting those into opportunities for new products and services. Jerry took this natural desire to understand people and applied it to marriage. Having married his high school sweetheart at the age of 21, Jerry has now been married over 35 years. He loves being married and sees it as a unique relationship designed by God Himself. Jerry has written a marriage blog titled Shocking Marriage for over a decade and has hundreds of followers. In this third phase of his career, Jerry has dedicated himself to marriage ministry where he works with couples in distress as well as couples that have just become complacent. In Rules of Engagement, his first book, Jerry shows couples practical ways to deal with conflict and ways to proactively keep the spark alive in the relationship.
