Kay Kenyon grew up reading science fiction and fantasy and never grew out of it, though some people believe one should. This is so wrong. For some, what one should do is grow up and Write such stories. This is an ideal, and not everyone wishes to do so, of course. Ms. Kenyon is very glad she chose that path. Even though she is now working on her 20th SFF novel—and that means there is so much writing to be done and it never really ends and every day one finds oneself writing yet more pages—even so, it is a happy life, approved of by her husband, most of her fans, and of course, Winston, her devoted tabby. She has just finished her third series, The Arisen Worlds. Winston is particularly proud of those stories, though he felt they could have been improved with a few more bloody episodes.
