Kirsten Pendreigh is a children’s author and poet from Canada's West Coast. Her most recent picture book, MAYBE A WHALE, is a JLG Gold Standard, a Horn Book Fanfare Selection, and comes highly recommended by multiple reviewers including the New York Times and Wall St. Journal. LUNA’S GREEN PET, about a little girl who raises a houseplant as her pet, is a Quill & Quire and Canadian Children's Book Centre Best Book of the Year. WHEN A TREE FALLS, the lyrical story of how fallen trees nurture new life, publishes in March 2025 with Chronicle Books and WHAT FISH ARE SAYING, a rhyming nonfiction about fish communication comes out in August 2025 with Sourcebooks. Kirsten's poems are found in Canadian literary magazines and in Best Canadian Poetry 2021.
