Linda Phillips is a leading champion of mental illness awareness and a vocal proponent for reform and as such is uniquely qualified to write this book. She is also an RN, a wife and a mother. This is her debut book. Yes, I am Linda Phillips. Until the winter of 1991, I led what I considered to be a charmed existence. But that December, my 17-year-old son, Nuçi, ran his car through three concrete block walls in a serious attempt to end his life. My charmed existence had ended. From that day, my family had five years to help our son, to learn from him about major depression and to watch him courageously fight a merciless disease. A fight he was to lose on Thanksgiving Day in 1996. A Beautiful Here is about my struggle to regain joy and purpose in my life. Not only have I found new purpose but through the founding of Nuçi's Space, we have helped to save many Nuçis who are still with us. For those who have lost someone they love to suicide, this is their story also.
