Marcie Maxfield’s voice is fierce, authentic, and personal. Her upcoming book JewGirl is about being "othered" and the search for belonging. Part memoir, part social commentary, Jew Girl explores the intersection of being Jewish and female at a time when antisemitism in on the rise and women's rights are at risk. Maxfield's award-winning debut novel, Em’s Awful Good Fortune is a novel about marriage and compromise disguised as a travel romp. Some say it reads like a memoir disguised as a novel. Authentic, funny and feminist. Em's Awful Good Fortune won multiple awards in Contemporary Fiction, Humor, Women's Issues. Originally from Detroit, Maxfield lives in Southern California. She is married with two kids, a French bulldog, and two rescue cats named Hunky and Dory. Marcie is available for readings and book clubs.
