Mary Jo Pehl is an Emmy-nominated writer and actor on the cult phenomenon Mystery Science Theater 3000. Her commentaries have been on NPR’s All Things Considered, and she’s been published in magazines and websites, including Minnesota Monthly, Salon. com, Austin Monthly, and Minneapolis Star Tribune. She currently costars with Bridget Nelson on RiffTrax; and hosts her own semi-monthly streaming show, The Mary Jo Pehl Show. She’s opened for Patton Oswalt, Jackie Kashian, and Laurie Kilmartin, and has been featured at San Francisco SketchFest, 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival, and Out of Bounds Comedy Festival, among others. "Dumb Dumb Dumb: My Mother's Book Reviews" is a memoir chronicling her mother’s love of reading.
