R.S. CURTIS Novelist, Author, Inventor, Poet, Father, Grandfather & Dandyman R.S. Curtis Novelist & Author, orthopedic surgeon, and acclaimed inventor, writes books, screenplays, & short stories about the redemptive power of love. His collection of poetry reflects a variety of themes throughout his life. R.S. Curtis received his MD from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School (UTSW). He practiced Orthopedic Surgery as a partner of the W.B. Memorial Carell Clinic in Dallas, Texas for over forty years. During that time, he also served as Associate Clinical Professor at UTSW. R.S. Curtis writes fiction novels with companion screenplays, short stories, medical articles and a collection of poetry. He has written eight novels (see bibliography) to date, self-publishing his first book “Once in A Blue Moon” with Simon & Schuster in 2019. Since then, he continues to publish exclusively with Amazon’s Kindle Direct (KDP) and Audible (ACX). R.S. Curtis is a lifelong Colorado enthusiast, which has influenced his themes and writings. He lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife Marty, spending time with his adult children, Collin and Allison, two grandchildren and four grand-dogs. He is active in multiple philanthropic organizations and serves on the Administrative Board of the Highland Park United Methodist Church and is a founding member of Dallas’ Katy Trail Board of Directors. The story takes place in the arena of the coming of the railroad to Aspen, Colorado in 1882.
