R S Leonard has always had a deep love for storytelling and historical fiction. With a PhD in nineteenth-century literature and culture as well as MAs in Creative Writing and Victorian Studies, her research for her studies inspired her first novel, The Body, The Diamond and The Child, which received rave reviews from readers. Her second novel, Murder at the Lunatics’ Ball, is out now. R S Leonard was born in Cheshire, England, and after a long stint in London, then Hampshire, now lives back in her home county. She is currently working on her next gothic mystery novel.
