Rachel Blacker is a spiritual teacher and author born in Western Sydney, Australia. Rachel describes her upbringing as 'tumultuous' and 'a smorgasbord of emotions'. Motivated by her challenging childhood, she went on to complete a science degree. During this time, a move to the mountains ignited her passion for the natural environment. When Rachel began working for a large company in her field of expertise, she came to realise that she was not feeling joy in her life and that something had to change. She decided to embrace her meditation and yoga practice and make changes in her life that were more in alignment with her true values. She sought employment that enabled her to spend more time connecting with nature and the outdoors. Her time spent in the mountains helped to hasten her spiritual awakening and she found comfort in the warm embrace of Mother Nature. The untimely death of her mother further cemented Rachel's decision to seek meaning beyond the grind of the 9 to 5 and prompted a move to the coast. Rachel had always felt a pull towards the ocean and in 2011, she moved to the scenic north coast of New South Wales and took up surfing. She hasn't looked back. For Rachel, spending time in nature and in the ocean has been key to her spiritual wellbeing. During her time on the coast, she met her soul mate, Charlie. Together, they have embraced their ideal life, following their intuition at every step. They have spent the last 6 years travelling together in their beautiful self-built camper van between Charlie's hometown in South Australia and Rachel's adopted home in Northern New South Wales. Rachel has continued to work on her passions and has completed training in meditation, neuro-linguistic programming, hypnosis and life coaching. Rachel and Charlie continue to work together on their projects, which they hope will improve spiritual wellbeing and appreciation of nature in Western society.
