Starting with the Great Famine of Ethiopia I have traveled from War Zone to Disaster Area and back as a journalist and then as a consultant specializing in communications with local peoples, journalists, relief organizations, and governments. About the only war I seem to have missed since the late eighties has been the hell that was Rwanda and I am heartily glad of it. I also have a strong background in North American and Arctic Circumpolar Aboriginal issues. Before becoming a journalist, and now consultant, I was a pilot working mainly in Canada's Arctic regions and I keep up aviation as a hobby. I am a British and Canadian citizen living at the moment in Calgary Alberta where I provide strategic communications advice involving Aboriginal and Government issues to energy corporations. I have raised and worked Border Collies all my life but my current one, Tess, is easily the best sheep dog I have ever had, which is saying something considering the quality of the other dogs.
