Rob Kendall is an internationally recognised authority on the dynamics and practices of effective conversation. His first job, working with amputees in India as an 18-year old, was the start of an extraordinary career journey. Over the last three decades, he’s been an artist with work sold in 24 countries, a co-founder of a technology company, a consultant to organisational leaders on five continents, a non-executive director of a BAFTA and EMMY-winning visual effects company, and an award-winning author. The skills of successful communication that Rob shares in his new book Workstorming have been tested with tens of thousands of people in over 70 organisations, including American Express, AT&T, BBC Worldwide, BRITs, Burberry, FTSE Group, London Marathon, Met Office, Post Office, Selfridges, Shell, Virgin, Vodafone and the 2012 Olympics. He’s also worked with joint ventures, charities, government departments and sports professionals. Having observed first-hand why some organizations implode while others become billion-pound enterprises or create a legacy of social contribution, Rob has a unique perspective on how to be effective and fulfilled at work. Workstorming: Why Conversations at Work Go Wrong and How to Fix Them, is published by Watkins in September 2016. Whether you’re a CEO or entering the workplace for the first time, Rob argues that your success depends on your ability to communicate with others, and explains in straightforward and highly practical terms – using real transcripts – how you can improve your ability to have any conversation, in any circumstance, with anyone. Rob’s award winning first book Blamestorming, published in 2014, topped Amazon’s ‘Movers and Shakers’ list in UK, and will be available in five languages by the end of 2016. Rob has produced articles for many publications including Cosmopolitan, Esquire, GQ and Psychologies. He is a regular speaker on leadership and communication, has featured on radio shows in the UK, USA and Asia, and writes a blog for Psychology Today.
