Robin Traywick Williams has more energy and more fun than anybody you know. When she began sharing her humorous view of such topics as modern male chivalry and how to get your spouse to stop smoking, her columns became an immediate hit. She has a wonderful sense of both the ridiculousness and the importance of everyday events. Williams is the author of five books, including two collections of humorous newspaper columns, “Bush Hogs and Other Swine” and “Chivalry, Thy Name Is Bubba”. Rita Mae Brown calls her “the country Seinfeld”. “The Key to the Quarter Pole”, Williams’ debut novel set at Colonial Downs racetrack, was published in 2019 by Dementi Milestone Publishing. Pre-publication acclaim has been exciting—the book was named “Best Unpublished Novel” by James River writers and Richmond Magazine. “A galloping good read” says Leeanne Ladin, author of “Secretariat’s Meadow”. Williams’ long-awaited memoir-bio of two families in World War II, “The Last Romantic War”, arrived in 2020. This compelling look at life during wartime tells the story of the author’s parents’ exotic global courtship, a story filled with emotion and adventure, featuring burning airplanes, runaway horses, the pain of separation and the eternal question: “Will he come home?” As research for "The Last Romantic War," Williams and her brother spent two weeks in India and the Middle East, a trip the author recalls in "Butch and Sundance Do India: A madcap search for our father’s WWII footsteps from Delhi to Burma." This humorous travelogue is beautifully illustrated. Robin Traywick Williams is an award-winning author, journalist, storyteller and horsewoman. She makes frequent appearances as a speaker at venues large and small. She holds an M.A. from the creative writing program at Hollins University, spent five years as a feature writer for the Richmond Times-Dispatch, and served six terms as chairman of the Virginia Racing Commission.
