S. M. Sharkey grew up in Mount Vernon, Illinois, where he graduated with a high school diploma towards the bottom of his class. After a long career as a failing college student, and having done a dime in a public housing facility, he was forcibly relocated to Virginia. He is thought to still be in the area, typing up stories and allegedly moonlighting as an under-the-table gravedigger. His preferred leisure activities are eating paint, watching birds, and trying to change his blood type. Also, writer/director at Trash Films—purveyors of fine gonzo horror.
