Simon Lloyd grew up near Leigh, in Greater Manchester. As well as being a teacher, he spent several years working as a football journalist. His first book, United With Dad, was published in 2023 and documents the final months of his father's life, drawing on his and their memories of watching their beloved Manchester United.
