Stephanie Garza’s premier book, Crickets, chronicles her journey through challenging circumstances to build the life of her dreams—regardless of outside expectations. From a small town in Indiana, Stephanie often felt unaccepted for her appearance, ambitions and desire to see the world beyond her own neighborhood. She shares intimate details about her life, including painful struggles with weight, dysfunctional family relationships, loneliness, self-doubt and overcoming the trauma of rape and abuse. Her open and honest writing style invites anyone who has faced similar challenges to know that they, too, can persevere. Stephanie’s story begins in a home where clashing with her parents was the norm. This tumultuous start sets the stage for several terrible relationships, including one that ended in stalking and harassment. But Stephanie never gave up—always staying true to herself. Through hard work, intuition, and an unbreakable spirit, she has risen above circumstances that could have easily kept her down. Today, Stephanie is a happy, healthy diplomat. She feels well-suited to the role because it allows her to help others by building confidence and lending her voice when others can’t—or are too afraid—to speak out. Since starting her career, Stephanie has visited Austria, Pakistan, Russia, Venezuela, Mexico, and Haiti as well as several U.S. destinations. Through Crickets, she reflects on her experiences, inspiring readers on their own paths to success. In her personal life, Stephanie is true animal lover and advocate. She worked with organizations that feed and neuter stray dogs in Haiti. She will be debuting two children’s book featuring her beloved pets.
