Stephen is a licensed mental health therapist (LMHC) and an ordained chaplain with over 30 years providing counseling and support to families and children. He has served as an emergency center and pediatric intensive care chaplain, as a therapist for children and youth in treatment foster care and as clinical supervisor of a community youth and family services center. He has volunteered for many years supporting moms and children living in family shelters and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in social services and foster care. He currently serves on the program committee of Treehouse Foundation providing resources and support for foster youth through age 26 ensuring every possibility for their having a sustainable adult life through education, mentoring and financial support. Stephen has often used his background in music and theatre to bring opportunities for those he counsels to find new ways of expression and meaning.
