Dear Readers, I am a single mother of three amazing boys. Julian is seventeen, Connor is twelve, and Parker just turned two. I know what you are thinking, and yes, I family plan well. We live in Nashville, Tennessee. I started writing this book when I was fourteen years old but never finished it until now. Over the years, I would run across my original manuscript that I started when I was a teenager. The battered, unfinished book was partially handwritten on yellow legal pads, partially typed out with one of those things that we now consider an antique typewriter, and then eventually, partially written on a word processor. Every time I would pick up the neglected little manuscript, it was such a mess, and the task of rewriting it always seemed overwhelming to me. I would make attempts, but due to the difficult task at hand and the strain of being a single mother, it always ended up back in the hope chest that my grandmother passed down to me. It has always been a struggle being a single mom, but in July of 2012, my children and I faced obstacles that seemed impossible to overcome. I had an accident and broke my right foot. The break was so severe that it required immediate surgery. The night before surgery, my boys and I lost our home. We were now homeless, broke, and I was basically handicapped. I could not even drive or provide the things that my children needed. Three weeks after surgery, I was laid off from my job as a pastry chef. It seemed that things just could not get any worse, and I could not see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was pretty sure at this point that if I did see a light that it was definitely going to be a train! I was sitting in my wheelchair one day and said, "Okay, this is it. I am going to finish my book." I refused to let these unfortunate events affect me, and I was absolutely not going to sit around and feel sorry for myself. I have always been a strong woman, and this bump in the road was a sign for me, not the signal of the end. So, I sat in a wheelchair with my laptop and finished my book in six weeks. My high school aged son actually edited it, and we created the cover, book trailer, and website ourselves in our living room on my new 2006 Apple computer that I won on eBay. Now, it is going to be published, and I am excited to share my twisted mind and my life-long dream. I am now forty-one years old, and it has taken me twenty-seven years to see my vision that I had when I was just a young girl in life. It is never too late, and everyone must always see the big picture, because no matter how hopeless things may seem, you can survive and thrive! There will be four books all together in the Berringer Family Novel Series, and I look forward to your feedback. Thank you for your support in advance! I hope that you enjoy my book! SINCERELY, TAMARA P.S. I PROMISE THAT IT WILL NOT TAKE ANOTHER TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS TO FINISH BOOK TWO!!!
