My name is Thomas Veasey. I grew up with Dr. Seuss, Sesame Street, and Saturday Morning cartoons. I was a firefighter/emt for a little over 23 years. I absolutely loved helping people any way that I could. I loved my crewmembers, and I loved coming home to my family after a long 24 hour shift. I began writing silly little stories for my children, Zach and Camryn. I wrote funny stories for my nieces, Evy and Anders and I branched out to creating tales for my firefighters' children. Lorelei and Rocko is my first official book. As a retired firefighter I am trying hard to make up for all the weekends, nights, holidays and special events that I missed with my home family that I spent with my firefighter family. Since leaving the fire service I have experienced lots of soccer and taken many quick trips to the ocean. I hope that you will join Lorelei and Rocko on an adventure to the beach and to the soccer fields and escape the worries of the world for a bit. I loved taking the fire truck to schools and reading to the children. I loved reading to my kids at night, just before bedtime. I hope that you will enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. Thank you to my wife Kristie and kids Zach and Cam for inspiring me to finally become a published author. Thank you to my brother Charles, a rock solid man. Thank you Johanna Zverzina for your brilliant artwork and making my words come to life. Thank you to the incredible team at Just Bear With Us; Richie,Christian, Artitude, Luis, Lor, Luisa, and Andy. Thank you to all the firefighters that went with me anywhere that I wanted to go, no questions asked. Thank you to Lorelei and Rocko and all the girls, families and coaches of 2008 Wake Forest United Blue, and a heartfelt thank you to the readers and listeners for spending your hard earned money to purchase this book. I hope you enjoy Lorelei and Rocko.
