Always trying to find the humorous, the ironic, even the perverse, I have been writing creatively for the past few years after a long career as a lawyer. Among those I have sought to emulate are Anton Chekhov, Anthony Marra and Joan Didion. Following the publication of my very well-received collection of short stories, California Vignettes, I am presently at work on a novel featuring a San Francisco bar pilot and hope to have it published before the end of 2024. Although the book includes a lot of "place," i.e., descriptions of areas and things around the San Francisco Bay, it's mostly about a man's search for true love and the many bad decisions he makes along the way. But in spite of the fact that I have lived in Marin County for most of my adult life, I'm really an LA guy at heart and have thoughts about a future novel giving prominence to the many wonders of that exciting and diverse city. For the last twenty-five years I have been married to the lovely Svetlana, and thanks to her my writings sometimes include favorable nods to the rich Russian culture of old.
