Ulrich Eberl, born 1962, is one of the most renowned science and technology journalists in Germany. He studied physics and worked as a freelance journalist for newspapers and magazines, writing hundreds of articles on topics ranging from evolution and nanotechnology to space research and the excavation of ancient Troy. After working for Daimler from 1992 to 1995, Eberl joined Siemens in 1996 as the director of its worldwide innovation communications. Since 2001, he has been Editor in Chief of Pictures of the Future, a magazine for research and innovation that has already won several international awards. In April 2015, he left Siemens founding SciPress, an editorial office for science, technology and business communications. His book "Life in 2050" vividly describes the key trends that will influence our life in the future and how we can invent the world of tomorrow. In June 2016, his book on automation, robotics and AI hit the market: “Smart Machines – how artificial intelligence will change our lives.” (in German, Chinese and Turkish language). Ulrich Eberl has given around 300 keynote speeches and presentations on the latest developments in artificial intelligence. He summarized the most important questions and answers in the book "Artificial Intelligence - 33 Questions, 33 Answers" (2020). In his latest book "Unsere Überlebensformel" (2022, meaning: "Our recipe for survival"), Ulrich Eberl analyzes the strongest levers and most exciting ideas for solving nine global crises, like climate change and the destruction of rainforests, mass extinction of species and pandemics, mobility and city development, feeding ten billion people, exploding consumption and the pollution of our oceans.
