Yannick Thoraval is an award-winning writer, author and creative writing teacher at RMIT University. He's written three novels and published nonfiction work in national publications such as The Australian, The Big Issue and The Conversation. His first novel, The Current, was commended in the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for an Unpublished Manuscript. Thoraval's second novel, White Foam, was shortlisted for Hachette Publishing’s Richell Prize and highly commended for the Jim Hamilton Award. He has also won the international New Millennium Writing Award for Nonfiction. Thoraval's latest novel, The Marriage Gap Year, is a lusty romantic dramedy that explores how far we'll run from ourselves to find our way back to the people we love.
