Esra Kuş is an Istanbul-based writer and scientist. She holds a PhD degree in Materials Science from the University of Southern California and a B.Sc from the Middle East Technical University. Esra worked as a researcher, scientist, and consultant in international institutions over the years. Her specialization involved corrosion and degradation of engineering materials. During recent years, her desire to understand what was happening to individuals in the growth-driven, aggressive world became much more compelling than researching what was happening to metals in corrosive solutions. In her first book, Madness Overrated, she shared her observations and thoughts on the mad dynamics of our global society. She calls the book a rebellion against a game that made humans forget about asking questions and thinking clearly, a global call to awareness and change. Writing has been a journey that helped Esra transform herself and her life. A critical way of thinking combined with a genuine interest in understanding the human psyche opened her horizon to the deeper layers of consciousness. She has been intrigued by the teachings of the Eastern philosophy that made one aware of his/her energetic nature. She is working on a new book these days that approaches the human experience beyond the limits of the mind and the physical body.
