Shade Rachea is an American young adult fantasy author, blogger and Creative Writing instructor. She lives in Stockton, CA with her family and her dog, Auro, and spends part of her free time reading, collecting and watching movies when not working on her books or shopping for shoes. Raised on Jewish customs and principles, Shade can be found leading worship at her church or studying and teaching Hebrew. She also loves to travel and explore new places with her friends and family, as well as attend music festivals and concerts. She grew up loving to write and read Greek mythology, the classics, and fantasy books. The second born of seven kids, she would write scripts and stories and have her siblings act out every scene and character. Along with her love for fantasy, Shade Rachea is a not so closeted romantic and loves to read romance novels. A couple of her favorite authors in this genre are Kendall Ryan and C.M. Owens. She also loves books by Anne Rice, more specifically The Vampire Chronicles series and the movie adaptations. Shade Rachea was a first generation college student attending Vanguard University of Southern California in Costa Mesa, California, where she majored in English with an emphasis in Writing and minored in Religion, graduating Cum Laude in 2016. She was also awarded for Outstanding Literary Creativity for her unique voice and writing of crime thriller fiction. During her undergraduate studies she was published twice in their literary journal, Synecdoche, having written a 10-minute Shakespeare inspired play and a literature review. With inspiration from The Lord of the Rings series, she began writing what would become her debut novel, The Crown of Amiriel, as her high school senior project, and with encouragement by several adults, pursued writing as a career. Finishing the book after graduating college, Shade Rachea released her debut novel in early 2018 and soon signed with Creativia Publishing in April 2018. She accredits J.R.R. Tolkien, Tamora Pierce, Stan Lee, Marvel Comics, and John Flanagan as major influences of her work. Along with these authors, her work is also heavily influenced by the music she listens to - whether that be Dan + Shay, Travis Garland, All Time Low, or any of the other artists and genres dominating her playlists, and the events of her life. Shade Rachea is an active member on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Aside from being an author, she is also a blogger, writing posts related to writing, reading and book reviews on the authors she is currently reading. She welcomes guest bloggers and is open to interviewing other authors. Her blog, The Musings of a 20-something Author, also doubles as her author website and contains information on her characters, the universe and worlds she created, as well as her books.
