Histoire
Outside Los Angeles, a driver pulls up to find a young woman sitting on a large black box. She offers him $200,000 cash to transport her and that box across the country, to Washington, DC. But there are rules: He cannot look inside the box. He cannot ask questions. He cannot tell anyone. They must leave immediately. He must leave all trackable devices behind. As these eccentric misfits hit the road, rumors spread on social media that the box is part of a carefully orchestrated terror attack intended to plunge the USA into civil war.

Interesting and fun

Jason writes a fascinating novel that hooked me in quickly and kept me going for the whole book. Deep character development and plot twists make you think and relate to the story with it all tying together nicely in a thought provoking satisfactory conclusion. This will definitely have me looking at other novels by Jason in the future.

A pantheon of forgotten gods. An old grudge between a talk show host, an heiress, and the man they shattered along the way. A rapidly deteriorating AI system. An inconvenient tiara upon the head of a friend.

Another epic book in an incredible series
Évalué le: 2023-10-17
Another great book in the series and perhaps my favourite. Don’t let the “card game mechanics” scare you off, as it is not an integral part of the story. Matt finds a way to focus on telling a deeply complex and interesting story within the litrpg genre. As the books progress they become less and less focused on those elements and more on pure story telling. Jeff Hayes is incredible as always. Likely the most dark of all the books so far with some slightly uncomfortable moments, however it adds real consequence to the story. So pumped for faction wars!

Histoire
As management reels from the unexpected conclusion of the seventh level, the surviving crawlers stumble onto the eighth and find themselves scattered. It’s a map based on Earth’s final days before the collapse, where ethereal, intangible ghosts of humanity go about their lives, oblivious of the impending doom. Living amongst these ghosts are monsters based in Earth lore. “Legendary” creatures tied to the geographical location they inhabit. Each team of crawlers is given a task: Find and capture six of these beasts.

Welcome to the Gun Show! The top 10 list is populated. The sponsorship program is open. The difficulty is ramping up. The first three floors were nothing compared to what Carl and Donut now face. The Iron Tangle. An impossibly complicated subway system built out of the world's subterranean railway systems, all combined and then tied together into a knot. Up is down. Down is up. Close is far. The cars are filled with monsters, the railway stations are less than safe, and the exit is always just a few stops away.

Amazing story
Évalué le: 2023-09-19
In line with the first two books, the 3rd lives up to the quality storytelling and fantastic narration. A must have for anyone that enjoyed the first two. Has one of the biggest surprise/shocking twists I have ever read/heard in a book/audiobook, that had my jaw on the floor then literally laughing out loud with the craziness! The world Matt has created is so unique and although each book in the series is progressing on the overall story, each book is unique and offers enough of a difference not to feel repetitive when compared to the first two. Overall great addition to the series.

The ratings and views are off the chart. The fans just can't get enough. The dungeon gets more dangerous each day. But in a grinder designed to chew up and spit out crawlers by the millions, Carl and Princess Donut need to work harder than ever just to survive. They call it the Over City. A sprawling, once-thriving metropolis devastated by a mysterious calamity. But these streets are far from abandoned. An undead circus trawls the ruins. Murdered prostitutes rain from the sky. An ancient spell is finally ready to reveal its dark purpose.

Completely addicted to this series!
Évalué le: 2023-09-19
The story continues from Dungeon Crawler Carl and I am now 100% hooked. Fun, exciting, emotional storytelling at its best. Don't just look at the cover art or the LitRPG categorization and assume this is just a light read. While immensely entertaining and laugh out loud at some points there is a tremendously deep story developing with exceptional character development that will keep me looking forward to each book in this series. As with the first book Jeff Hays is fantastic, and in combination with the story makes this a must have audiobook.

Ten years after the events of Morning Star, Darrow and the Rising are battling the remaining Gold loyalist forces and are closer than ever to abolishing the color-coded caste system of Society for good. But new foes will emerge from the shadows to threaten the imperfect victory Darrow and his friends have earned. Pierce Brown expands the size and scope of his impressive Red Rising universe with new characters, enemies, and conflicts among the stars.

Very different from the first 3 books
Évalué le: 2023-09-19
Lots of people love this book, but for some reason I just couldn't get into it. I believe it is because the story focuses away from only Darrow and is now split between a number of new characters. I made it through the whole book but it was difficult. I loved the first 3 (one of the best series I have ever read) but I almost wish I had stopped after book 3. I am going to try this again in the future based on my love for the series and hopefully the second time through I get more connected to the story and characters.

The apocalypse will be televised! You know what’s worse than breaking up with your girlfriend? Being stuck with her prize-winning show cat. And you know what’s worse than that? An alien invasion, the destruction of all man-made structures on Earth, and the systematic exploitation of all the survivors for a sadistic intergalactic game show. That’s what. Join Coast Guard vet Carl and his ex-girlfriend’s cat, Princess Donut, as they try to survive the end of the world—or just get to the next level—in a video game–like, trap-filled fantasy dungeon.

Amazing story and Narration!
Évalué le: 2023-07-07
One of the best and most fun books I have ever listened too. Such a creative story with great narration! I originally picked this up on sale and it sat in my library for a while as I did not have high expectation. However, once I gave this a try I was instantly hooked. I don't believe this is just for LitRPG fans either, Matt Dinniman creates an immersive world that is engaging, exciting and immensely creative. You get very attached to the characters and they are so well developed. This book makes me laugh out loud regularly while also having me on edge from the tension and excitement; mixed in with real emotional moments that have had me on the verge of tears. Jeff Hays is flat out the best narrator I have ever heard, he makes the story come to life. I have since recommended this book to basically everyone I know and everyone is not disappointed.

Histoire
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.
