Histoire
Once Donald Trump’s fiercest surrogate, closest confidant, and staunchest defender, Michael Cohen knows where the skeletons are buried. This is the most devastating business and political horror story of the century. As Trump’s lawyer and “fixer”, Cohen not only witnessed firsthand but was also an active participant in the inner workings of Trump’s business empire, political campaign, and presidential administration.

A credible review into the truth of who is Donald Trump
Évalué le: 2021-02-14
Good narration and to the point story of the author’s history with Trump. Michael Cohen is believable in his history and accepts the blame for his actions. It is also credible that the ex-President or his minions indeed used his power to silence the Author. Just like an underworld crime figure, you will almost never catch them red handed but need an insider to tell the truth. This book fulfills this role. The self dealing and self serving nature of the ex-President is described, and a warning to anyone that places their trust in Trump. If US banks won’t lend Trump money, consider carefully lending him your support. This book predicts the fall of his other enablers....notice how Trump treats Giuliani after he couldn’t overturn the election results. Human nature is to default towards believing others. Beware anyone who can lie in the face of others without a hint of shame on trivial matters like the size of a crowd or the path of a hurricane. If your Pro-Trump I dare you to read this book.

Histoire
Woodward, the number-one international bestselling author of Fear: Trump in the White House, has uncovered the precise moment the president was warned that the Covid-19 epidemic would be the biggest national security threat to his presidency. In dramatic detail, Woodward takes readers into the Oval Office as Trump’s head pops up when he is told in January 2020 that the pandemic could reach the scale of the 1918 Spanish Flu that killed 675,000 Americans.

A view into President Trump that is not partisan
Évalué le: 2021-02-07
The narration and pace of information was excellent. Facts presented and supported by background. There were some key elements like China’s response to the virus that are outrageous.... I believe the Author would not have included it without evidence. The human frailty of the president is made evident and I believe actually is a fair portrayal and shows he is just wrong about things.... but unable to learn or to improve. Lying is not just calculated but a habit that cannot be overcome as reality exists in his perspective only with self- glory being the only important factor. President Trump is the reason political parties should not be cults of personality... the “Dear Leader” platform should be rejected at all costs. The authors summation that the President was not the right man for the job is supported based on the content of the book.

Histoire
In the winter of 1918, at the height of World War I, history's most lethal influenza virus erupted in an army camp in Kansas, moved east with American troops, then exploded, killing as many as 100 million people worldwide. It killed more people in 24 weeks than AIDS has killed in 24 years, more in a year than the Black Death killed in a century. But this was not the Middle Ages, and 1918 marked the first collision between modern science and epidemic disease.

A sobering look at the lessons of a pandemic in light of Covid-19
Évalué le: 2020-10-13
See how the lessons of the past were learned the hard way...and how medicine in the US transformed from anecdotal folk remedies to a scientific approach just before and during the pandemic. Leadership was shown to be and still is the key to getting through pandemics. Foundations and then Governments in the US stepped up to meet the demands of public health at the turn of the 20th century... Johns Hopkins University is a legacy still paying dividends today. A great exploration of key figures in medicine as well. Sad to see the predictions and warnings of this book and history were unheeded and ignored and now we are paying the price with Covid-19. Maybe we will now learn something to forestall the grave consequences of the next influenza pandemic...
