Ayoade argues for the canonisation of this brutal masterpiece.

Probably better as a read novel

Richard Ayoade's narration is great and funny, but this is one of those audiobooks where I kept kind of losing the thread of where the story/chapter/sentence was going. There's a lot of tangents (funny ones!) and meandering chapters all of which make me believe this is a better experience read rather than listened to- especially considering there are puns best understood visually (which Ayoade hilariously points out in the narration breaking what 4th wall there can be in a book reviewing View From The Top- again, amazing narration).

Gripping!

I could not pause this audiobook! I binged it over the course of a few days and loved every second!
The narrators are fabulous and the story is an intense mystery/psychological thriller. My best read so far of 2020!

Could not stop listening

King is amazing- I don’t need to tell you that. Santino Fontana’s performance, however, is what really brought this audiobook to life. All the different voices, accents, the tone of voice- kept me coming back for more! And for the first time in an audiobook (I’ve done this before with reading but never audiobooks) I started to slow down my listening as the book was wrapping up because I didn’t want it to end! Bravo!

Katie’s performance is AMAZING- she does like 5 different accents and men and makes everyone sound unique. If you like romance stories with a bit of fun and drama, with some escapist fantasy too with the descriptions of dream vacation destinations in Europe, you will not be disappointed! Fun, engaging, and I am picking up the sequel! I’ve been hooked ❤️ bravo!
