Histoire
Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare—and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray. Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide—Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade.

The most ‘Meh’ of the Sanderson’s books yet.
Évalué le: 2025-01-18
What initially drew me to Sanderson’s books were his: ‘Here’s a simple premise, now let’s explore the consequences’. He is most famous for his magic systems that way. The Stormlight Archives are becoming bloated by complexity: Multiple planes of existences, Planets, Races and so many types of unexplained powers that don’t really add to the story.
Also, why do every single storming character have deep psychological issues!? Why do they keep rambling about their problems in circles like that? I get that self-acceptance is an interesting concept to explore in the Radiant system, but everyone ? All the time? It is dragging the pace to a crawl. From epic bridge4 to therapist, really ?
It is still a pleasurable book, but I think I’m done with the Stormlight Archives now.
Performances:
Kate and Michael are still very good at what they do. However, the Michael Kramer parts sometimes had background noises in them. Different recording setup or lower editing standards ? I docked a star.

Guile is the Prism. He is high priest and emperor, a man whose power, wit, and charm are all that preserves a tenuous peace. Yet Prisms never last, and Guile knows exactly how long he has left to live. When Guile discovers he has a son, born in a far kingdom after the war that put him in power, he must decide how much he's willing to pay to protect a secret that could tear his world apart.

This title made me buy more credits!

This title made me buy more credits; I really wanted more and more. Beware.
This is a review for the whole 5 books series since, let's be honest, that's what you probably want if you're looking at this.
I did not know Brent Weeks before, but it came as a recommendation from other B.Sanderson fans online.
In short:
+ Action packed
+ Magic system interesting and self-consistent.
+ Good breath of characters: From the heroic wannabe orphan to the super-munchkin guy. Young girl and Middle-life lady.
+ I liked how the author brought only a few character's perspective at a time. 2-3 in first book, 3-4 second and third, 4-6 in the rest. It makes it easy to read/listen => Good progression.
+ Simon Vance did a pretty good job. The only way this could have been improved is by teaming with a female narrator.
+ Some small plot twists here and there keeps the story fresh.
± For the most part, the "vilains" are also well done. There are a few whom's motivations are a bit harder to understand.
- My main complain is that B.Weeks starts to build a sort of "greater expanse" universe towards the 4th book. That falls short: It doesn't really add to the story, leads nowhere and kerfuffle with his magic system.
Overall, I'd five it 4.5*... but let's round up!

Histoire
Meet the galaxy's unluckiest outlaws. Carl Ramsey is an ex-Earth Navy fighter pilot turned con man. His ship, the Mobius, is home to a ragtag crew of misfits and refugees looking to score a big payday but more often just scratching to pay for fuel. The crew consists of his ex-wife (and pilot), a drunkard, four-handed mechanic, a xeno-predator with the disposition of a 120kg housecat, and the galaxy's most-wanted wizard.

A lot of fun and a great deal!

OK so I have 10hrs left on the series, but here's my review:
Short version: A well done version of Firefly with magic, aliens and robots. That should be 'nuff said.
Pros:
+ Mikael Naramore does an amazing job.
+ 85hrs of content.
+ The stories/plots are decent to good in quality. It's not mind bending, but good enough to keep you going back. You just want those poor chaps to get a frackin pay day!
+ The humor is on point.
+ Diversified and memorable characters. Sometimes a little on the cliched side, but still fun.
Cons:
- My biggest con is the weird pro- Judeo-Christian theme that pops on and off. For the brainwashed priestess, fine, but for all the others it's very out of character and awkward. Made me pause often. I don't mind religions, but it needs to be in line with the story and POV to be interesting.
- Within the same chapters, The Point Of View keeps changing from 2nd person, to 1st person to 3rd person Limited or Omniscient. I noticed it more in the first chapters (maybe I got accustomed to JSMorin's shifts, maybe he got more systematic). Anyhow, that bothered me initially.
Overall I'd still recommend it to anyone who like space/fantasy.
