Histoire
Jorg would be emperor. It is a position not to be gained by the sword but rather by vote. And never in living memory has anyone secured a majority of the vote, leaving the Broken Empire long without a leader. Jorg has plans to change that - one way or the other. He’s uncovered even more of the lost technology of the land, and he won’t hesitate to use it. But he soon finds an adversary standing in his way, a necromancer unlike any he has ever faced - a figure hated and feared even more than himself: the Dead King. The boy who would rule all may have finally met his match....

first book doesn't suck you in at all but it goes off with a bang... and slowly gets better.

The ending of this story was very disapointing.

The story ended in a way I loath for fantasy stories. "Magic" lost or saved is too old and boring of a trope that just needs to die. Die hard, fast and with no remorse.

Histoire
The Moon will soon return. Whether this heralds the destruction of humankind or something worse will depend on two women. Essun has inherited the power of Alabaster Tenring. With it, she hopes to find her daughter Nassun and forge a world in which every orogene child can grow up safe. For Nassun, her mother's mastery of the Obelisk Gate comes too late. She has seen the evil of the world, and accepted what her mother will not admit: That sometimes what is corrupt cannot be cleansed, only destroyed.

The world felt just big enough for the characters

Narration was good. The 2nd person parts are weird for me and going through three of these books has not changed that. Over all I did not really like the story mostly because over three books I could not buy the severe hate for the raga's. It is a prime plot point but I could not see how much hate for them could arise given the obvious benefit they could contribute.
My favorite parts were honestly the time given to explaining the pre cataclysm world.
