À propos de cet audio

In a world darkened by deceit, the truth is a light that won’t be dimmed—even when it illuminates Lorian’s betrayals more starkly than I could ever want to see.

They call him the Bloodthirsty Prince. His reign of terror has left a trail of blood across this continent, a trail that intertwines with my own past—not even my parents were spared from his merciless slaughter.

To save my brother’s life, I agreed to another bargain with the fae prince. Now, I’m forced to work with him, to travel to the fae lands, to spend my every waking moment with the man who betrayed me. All because King Sabium has woven a deadly tapestry of manipulation, using those we least suspect for his wicked schemes.

There are no lines I won’t cross to protect the people I love. So I’ll work with former enemies. I’ll manipulate, blackmail, and deceive potential allies. I’ll swallow my pride, bury my shattered heart, and cooperate with the fae to prepare for the coming war.

Because there are creatures far more monstrous than the fae—and some of them masquerade as men.

Book two of this slow-burn enemies-to-lovers series will enchant fans of fantasy romance who love Raven Kennedy, Amanda Bouchet, and Carissa Broadbent.

Great Romantasy

I really enjoy this series so far! The story is exciting, fits the Romantasy category perfectly and the female voice acting is excellent. I'm not the biggest fan of the male voice actor, but it definitely doesnt ruin it for me. if you're a fan of the From Blood and Ash series you'll like this one for sure.

really liked the first book, this one lost me

I really enjoyed the first book, but the fleshing out in this one lost me. I missed the MMC and his attitude, even though it flared up sometimes, he just became very soft and the opposite of what I enjoyed in the first one - although it may have been narrator delivery that affected it. the male narrator is difficult to listen to, and the word "wander" appears basically everywhere when someone tries to walk or move in any sort of manner which was kind of tedious.

a decent slow burn.

I've enjoyed listening to this series so far. I have noticed a couple plot holes where something in the story doesn't line up with information previously given. however that is something that can I can ignore. I like the narration from both actors, I do get confused on who is talking in the story at times as some of the voices sound the same, but once again it's something I can ignore. overall this is a pretty decent book.

Story doesn’t make up for the bad narration

Very noticeably lower quality writing than the first book; too many plot points were included in a way that felt like a checklist rather than organic aspects of where the story left off. Clunky world building is done through flashbacks rather than just letting the characters …. speak to each other …. ?

Plot holes and character inconsistencies large enough to fly a plane through, and at least 2/3 of the story feels like pointless filler that should have just been left on the editing floor.

Narrators - especially MMC - are poorly cast. For a gruff fae fighter who expertly hides his true feelings …. They chose a highly theatric voice actor that would feel right at home in cartoons (or children’s musical theatre productions as Lord Farquad?)

Voice actor for FMC tries too hard to make her voice lower and ends up using a really cringey “boy voice” that always takes you out of the story because of how ridiculous it sounds.
