January was meant to be a fresh start, but instead, it became a lesson in resilience, stillness, and surrender. In this episode, I share how a month filled with sickness and injury forced me to confront my deep attachment to movement and productivity. When I couldn't work out at my usual 11 AM, chaos set in—not just in my schedule but in my emotions. I felt sadness, despair, and even hints of depression, realizing how much I rely on movement to feel fulfilled. Inspired by Eckhart Tolle's wisdom on being vs. doing, I question whether I am worthy without constant action and whether I can find peace even in forced stillness.
This journey also led me to reflect on Sarah Blondin’s Befriending Your Natural Cycles: Recognize Life’s Rhythms, which reminds us that life moves in cycles—we are not meant to bloom endlessly without rest. Just as trees shed their leaves in winter, we too must embrace the quiet, unseen phases of growth. Yet, we’ve become so afraid of non-doing that we resist the very stillness that could nourish us. If we’re always producing, always striving, we lose touch with the deeper rhythm of life and the wisdom it offers. This episode is an invitation to honor both movement and rest, learning to trust the natural ebb and flow of our existence.
