I dropped tears at the gym
Such a great story with wonderful character development in a world that I've been immersed in since highschool. I remember the wait for book 5 and each book after. I'm so happy that there's more to this world to experience.
I actually cried a little while listening at the gym. Although it was intuitive that *redacted to avoid spoilers* it made my heart break when it happened. This is because of both the incredible writing and spectacular delivery of narration.

Pulled Me Back In
I am not one for writing long reviews. I was a big Terry Goodkind fan back in the day, and I decided to purchase this one on a whim just to see if I could get back into this world again. I was presently surprised at how often I wanted to listen to this recording when I was driving or doing a light work out or going for walks. It defiantly pulled me back in and made me run out and get the next book in the series as soon as I was finished.

Great continuation of stories and characters
Nicci was one of the most intriguing characters from the Sword of Truth books and now we get to see where she goes after those stories and has adventures of her own.

How could things get worse? Read on
In the Sword of Truth series, and its sequels, each brilliant solution leads to a more serious problem, until personal problems escalate to threaten the fate of the multiverse. For the most part, these escalations occur as readers transit from one novel to the next.
In this series, problems get worse from one chapter to the next. This is not a good sign. This follows the pattern of the song, "I Know an Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly."
As well, the protagonists, Nicci, Nathan, and Bannon, lack the strong moral foundation of Richard and Kahlan. They've already made questionable decisions, and unnecessary tragedies have occurred.
I'm still going to read the rest of the books.

Not the same without Richard
I had some trouble with this one. It's just not as enthralling without Richard as the main character. It had some good moments but I found myself easily distracted away from listening to it so it took a long time to finish. I actually stopped at one point and listened to a whole other book before continuing. I'm kinda sorry I've already bought the other two books in this series. I'll give them a go and hope it gets better.

Not recommended
I am convinced that this isn’t actually Terry Goodking writing and is instead the work of some amature ghost writer. The story offers no insight into morality or other issues of humanity and is a straightforward adventure with simple problems, simple solutions, simple characters, and a simple plot.

Very badly read
The story was great as always, but the actor reading it seemed to be reading it for the very first time during recording. Words misread such as Additive magic spoken as Addictive magic...her male voice used to speak for Nikki at times. The male characters all sound either pompous yet monotone, or of extremely low intelligence. I was disappointed, I generally prefer hearing a woman read a story, but this was nearly unbearable.

Narrator, are you kidding me?
After seeing all of the horrible reviews about this narrator, they used her again for the next book.... how is that possible? I absolutely will not get the 2nd book, because she is unbearable. So unfortunate.

Poor performance
A decent book with an interesting storyline, but the narrator has very awkward phrasing and there were several very obvious mistakes that spoiled the performance.
