Loved listening to this entire series
Will miss these story lines. Have really enjoyed each character and the investigation each book introduced. Good and consistent narration made all the difference.

The Narration Diminishes the Story
I've listened to many of Joy Ellis' books. Enjoyed them all and got this one the moment it became available. Unfortunately I nearly put the book down several times because the narration distracted me from the story badly in several ways. The voice was often so high pitched and the tone officious it irritated the ears. That, and the reading without the cadence of a story teller, made it difficult the follow the twisty events. Several times I had to take a moment to rewind a bit to realize that the story had moved on to a different location, character, situation or conversation, and get myself back onto the context. In short, the narration smothered the subtlety of some twists and the building of suspense.

Always a good read
I love the host of interesting players and the twists at the end. Strong female characters of all ages take us on another interesting journey

Disjointed plot lines
This book was a real disappointment. Narration was weak. The plot lines were disjointed, especially the part about the contract killers which was unnecessary and superfluous to the overall plot. I really felt like the author just threw this book together with little forethought or research just to fulfill a contractual obligation. Definitely my last Joy Ellis book.
