À propos de cet audio
First aid for failure...
Although we have bandages for cuts, chicken soup for colds, and ice packs for bruises, most of us have no idea how to treat day-to-day emotional injuries such as failure, rejection, and loss. But, as Guy Winch, PhD, points out, these kinds of emotional injuries often get worse when left untreated and can significantly impact our quality of life. In this fascinating and highly practical audiobook he provides the emotional first aid treatments we have been lacking.
Explaining the long-term fallout that can result from seemingly minor emotional and psychological injuries, Dr. Winch offers concrete, easy-to-use exercises backed up by hard cutting-edge science to aid in recovery. He uses relatable anecdotes about real patients he has treated over the years and often gives us a much needed dose of humor as well.

Real heartbreak is unmistakable. We think of nothing else. We feel nothing else. We care about nothing else. Yet while we wouldn't expect someone to return to daily activities immediately after suffering a broken limb, heartbroken people are expected to function normally in their lives, despite the emotional pain they feel. Now psychologist Guy Winch imagines how different things would be if we paid more attention to this unique emotion - if only we can understand how heartbreak works, we can begin to fix it.

Help with everyday emotional problems
I found this book by Guy Winch to be helpful with every day issues in a no nonsense , simple and easy to understand way.
It strips away the unnecessary stuff and gets down to the heart of the matter. I have found it for myself to be not only reflective but practical. It also gives you ways of dealing with it yourself as much as possible as well as acknowledging that there are times a mental health practitioner is necessary . I found that with Guy reading it himself it allowed him to put emphasis on things in a way another person would not have be able to do! I found his voice easy to listen to.
Thanks Guy!

Very practical methods for self help
Great detailed insights for different negative emotions like guilt, failure, rejection, loss etc. and according practical methods for self help. I learnt so much and definitely recommend it to everyone. I listened to audio book. It took me a little while to get used to the author’s pronunciations. Would be better if read by a professional book reader. Still great value!!!

Effective, professional, genuinely compassionate
I find this book offers professional, effective help. Suggestions and examples are always on point and very applicable to my circumstances. The reader's tone is compassionate and humourous, easing the telling of truths that are very personal. Good ideas and effective approaches in this subject are hard to come by, and I have found them in this book.
