Soothing and renewing
I love listening to this as I fall asleep. James Earl Jones has the most relaxing voice and as he reads these words they seem to penetrate deep into you.

May the Glory of God be with you, Always
To listen to one of the greatest voices who played such powerful characters in the movies I love so much. James Earl Jones reading the New Testament was beautiful. God gave him a wonderful gift and it helped me listen to the Gospel and I am now a follower of Christ. Glory be to God, amen.

Excellent voice performance
Wonderful performance by James Earl Jones. It is funny to skip through the chapters and hear him say Luke over and over again. More seriously, it’s a performance filled with gravitas that is serious, gentle and compelling.

James Earl Jones is not the right person to read this book.
James Earl Jones is very hard to understand. He just reads the words with no inflection. It feels like he takes a deep breath before starting a sentence and the exhales during the reading. This audiobook was a complete waste of money.

Very Poor Recording. Strange Narration Tone
I have hundreds of audio books, and this isy first review. This is the poorest recording quality audiobook I have listened to. This review has nothing to do with the contents. Obviously, this is the Bible and the KJV, so I knew what I was purchasing. Rather, it's about two issues. I thought James Earl Jones' voice would bring a rich timbre and cadence. Rather, he used a tone like he was trying to read it with some kind of sanctimonious whisper the whole time. I found it annoying. However, that is not the objectionable issue. Starting in Matthew 21, there were numerous instances where the audio had been spliced and words and phrases inserted at a different volume and pitch, as if the words had been missed on the initial recording and spliced in afterwards. It was sooooo annoying that I couldn't listen any further Now, I'll never know how the story ended. But seriously, avoid this recording. This is a sad legacy for the narrator to be left with.
