À propos de cet audio

When Clara Delany walks into the Aces High Motorcycle Club's hangout, she's hit rock bottom. She's hiding her car from the repo man, she has less than two dollars in her bank account, and the only employment she can get is delivering messages for a criminal.

All because of a man. Therefore, she's sworn them off.

And then she meets West "Buck" Hardy, president of the Aces High MC.

Buck also meets her, and the minute he does, he makes it clear (to everyone but Clara) that they're starting something. Since Clara doesn't get that message, she decides to leave Buck and sort out her life in order to come back to him clean.

She's not gone but hours before life hits Clara with another blow. Which means Buck and his boys have to ride in and save the day. After that, Buck makes no bones about where they stand.

But does he?

Welcome to the first novel in the Wild West MC series, which will tell the stories of the brothers of the Aces High MC, the Resurrection MC, and the Chaos MC - and the women who love them.

Have I heard this already?

If you’ve read Motorcycle Man, don’t bother with this book. It’s a carbon copy. I was so excited for this book and the new series. But if this is how the rest of the books are going to be, I’m out. I get they’re both presidents of motorcycle clubs but they also both live in the mountains, they both have a son and daughter , they both have problems with the daughter, the lady works at the office. Just to name a few. I just couldn’t get over it. Ruined the book for me. I loved Motorcycle Man and Kristen Ashley. I have read most of her books. This is the only one that disappointed me. I hope the rest of the series isn’t like that.

Another fantastic listen!

I absolutely loved this book so I knew listening to it would be fantastic as well. I didn't realize Erin Mallon was the narrator and she is my favorite so it made it all the better and Jason Clarke.....his voice is so awesome !!

I love how Kristen Ashley isn't afraid to write about important and sometimes uncomfortable issues and she's done so wonderfully. I am amazed at her awesomeness everytime I read something new. She is one author I don't ever have to read the blurb, I always just one click or pre-order!! Love her!!

Don't waste your time

I usualy enjoy her books but this one was a waste of time . There's a fine line between hard-headed soft centered alpha males and domestic abuse and this book crosses that line. paired with weak female characters its the worst read for female empowerment. if I wanted to know how real motorcycle clubs treated their women I'd watch a documentary, this is fiction it should be lighter. also the writing felt rushed and repetitive- how many times can the main character be confused and ask for clarification by saying "sorry?" so frustrating.

What??

Update: I finished the book. it does resolve some of the ick. It just feels like you're throwing your hands up and saying "Fine. If that's what makes you happy". I don't feel warm and cuddly that she found her badass. Buck is still a jerk. Clara still too forgiving and frustrating. Still feels like a wasted credit

I want to start by saying this seems to be a one off for this author. Its just very far off. I could not finish this book. I forced myself to get at least half way through hoping things would get better. Sadly it did not. Maybe I will finish it in the future just to say I did, but for now it's a no for me.
I am obsessed with Kristen Ashley books. Her alpha males usually do have a modicum of chauvinistic tendencies but 99.9% they're good men who respect their women. Her female protagonist is usually hilariously resilient, tough as nails, take no shit, self respecting women. Not so for Buck and Clara.
It starts out ok. As the book goes on however, there are incidents that slowly start to show up that are unacceptable for me.
To make matters worse they include a bunch of women to "help" Clara understand that "that's the way it is with our guys" or how "she fucked up" to make him mad.
Buck is just a jerk who is chauvinistic and displays verbally and in at least one instance physically abusive tendencies. However we slap a band-aid over that because he's rich therefore takes care of the woman in distress. Clara is just full bad choices and settling for garbage because she's "stuck" or "never had a family".
This book just continued to make me feel upset icky the more I listened. I wasted a credit, don't waste yours.

Rewrite of Motorcycle Man

The hero has the same temper, the same family, the same club story. The heroine plays the same fish out of water troupe (gag). The spin here is that we *don't* get Kristen Ashley's usual examples of good relationships - clear communication, don't hit your girlfriend, always have your girlfriends back, etc. As in Yes, you heard right... this "hero" lands some bruises on our heroine, and there are some ugly gaslighting fights. And the girlfriends here, while they do care for the fellow girls, definitely have their priorities a little messed up. Or club dynamics have messed them up.* Yes, yes, it's all a misunderstanding and everything works out in the end, but if you're like me, you'll have a real nasty taste in your mouth while you're reading this. Get this one if it's on sale, don't waste your credits.

* I hope that this particular issue will be a long-term storyline that will be worked out through the series, which this book obviously is setting up. We will see...
