À propos de cet audio
NATIONAL BESTSELLER
The remarkable new novel from Matt Haig, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller The Midnight Library, which has sold more than nine million copies worldwide
“What looks like magic is simply a part of life we don’t understand yet . . . ”
When retired math teacher Grace Winters inherits a run-down house on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza from a long-lost friend, curiosity gets the better of her. Grace arrives in Ibiza with a one-way ticket, no guidebook and no plan.
Among the rugged hills and golden beaches of the island, Grace searches for answers about her friend’s life and how it ended. What she uncovers is stranger than she could have possibly dreamed. But to dive into this impossible truth, Grace must first come to terms with her past.
Filled with wonder and wild adventure, this is a story of hope and the life-changing power of a new beginning.

Young Elly's world is shaped by those who inhabit it: her loving but maddeningly distractible parents; a best friend who smells of chips and knows exotic words like 'slag'; an ageing fop who tapdances his way into her home, a Shirley Bassey impersonator who trails close behind; lastly, of course, a rabbit called God. In a childhood peppered with moments both ordinary and extraordinary, Elly's one constant is her brother Joe. Twenty years on, Elly and Joe are fully grown and as close as they ever were. Until, that is, an earth-shattering event that threatens to destroy their bond for ever.

Martha Ratliff conceded long ago that she’d likely spend her life alone. She was fine with it, happy with her solo existence, stimulated by her work as a librarian in Maine. But then she met Alan, a charming and sweet-natured salesman whose job took him on the road for half the year. When he asked her to marry him, she said yes, even though he still felt a little bit like a stranger.

Miranda July’s second novel confirms the brilliance of her unique approach to fiction. With July’s wry voice, perfect comic timing, unabashed curiosity about human intimacy, and palpable delight in pushing boundaries, All Fours tells the story of one woman’s quest for a new kind of freedom. Part absurd entertainment, part tender reinvention of the sexual, romantic, and domestic life of a forty-five-year-old female artist, All Fours transcends expectation while excavating our beliefs about life lived as a woman.

When Lydia takes a job running the Senior Citizens’ Social Club three afternoons a week, she assumes she’ll be spending her time drinking tea and playing gentle games of cards. The members of the Social Club, however, are not at all what Lydia was expecting. From Art, a failed actor turned kleptomaniac to Daphne, who has been hiding from her dark past for decades to Ruby, a Banksy-style knitter who gets revenge in yarn, these seniors look deceptively benign—but when age makes you invisible, secrets are so much easier to hide.

An incredible journey to places and characters I can’t wait to revisit!
This is a beautifully written and narrated story. Even before it was finished, I knew I would listen to it again! I was captivated by the way the narrator brought the protagonist’s internal struggles and realizations to life. This fantastical story is a wonderful exploration of human nature and possibilities. I loved every aspect of it!

disappointed!
I approached “The Life Impossible” by Matt Haig with high expectations, especially after being captivated by “The Midnight Library.” While the book was an enjoyable read, it didn’t quite meet the lofty standards set by its predecessor. The narrative and themes, though engaging, fell short of my expectations. However, the audiobook’s narration and performance were exceptional, adding a layer of depth and emotion to the story.

The story repeats and repeats
I love the initial idea and the start of the story seemed really unique, but unfortunately, I could not get past a few chapters as after a while they kept saying the same thing over and over, so it became very tedious and boring. Rarely do I end a story partway, but I could not tolerate how the story stalled out.
