It was an excellent book
It is nothing like the netflix show. which is excellent. iam glad it was different it was so worth listening too. The Oracle plays a bigger role in the book.

Not Dick's best
Fantastic narration, but I found the narrative thread easy to lose. Too many subplots I didn't care about at all, and a lot of dialogue was simply bad.
Maybe I just didn't get it, but overall, not Dick's strongest work.

A Philosophical Foray into an Under-utilized World
Much like other offerings from Philip K. Dick, ‘Man in the High Castle’ is heavy on poetic philosophy set in a fascinating world. Unfortunately, Dick once again sacrifices story by under-utilizing the rich characters and settings to serve existential philosophical discussion.
If you like history, alternate-history fiction, sci-fi, or philosophy, you’ll enjoy this book. But be warned, it doesn’t score high on emotion or thrills. If you like Star Wars, this is not your cup of tea. If you like Star Trek, welcome.

Great book but some character voices are iffy
The story is awesome, quite different from the Amazon series so well worth considering. The book is well narrated except when it comes to Juliana's voice; it was hard to imagine the character when the narrator tried to sound like a woman. Otherwise, a great title.

Find someone who actually can pronounce German and Japanese
Very very painful to listen to. Accents are 1) wrong and 2) grossly exaggerated. Terrible performance. Could not finish.

Great idea but needs more detail.
The show has a lot more detail and connection between each story but without listening to the book I would not have put some connection together when watching the show. To get the whole picture you need to entertain both. I hated the ending of the book.

The show was way better.
Its an alright book. The end is very bad.
Ok it was written in 1962, the reader is decent. But the story end when the action should have started.
Anyway, dont waste your money on this book

Not what I expected at all
The book had a lot of technical information about military, weapons and cultural practises, but it was not presented in an entertaining way and instead read more like a textbook at times.
There was also very advanced language used in most of the dialogue making you have to decipher what is being said.
The actor did a great job of trying all accents but they were so thick they were unrealistic and sometimes hard to understand.
I realize it's not proper to compare the TV show to the book which came first but it was the reason I found this book. After watching the series I had high expectations of this book and instead it was basically an entirely different story with some of the same names in the same settings that was less interesting.
All around it was a huge disappointment for me and very uninteresting.
