excellent

this was the best Predator audiobook by far, I love how this depiction of the Predator brings back a Predator that is damn near indestructible.

Starts off ok, then gets a lot better!

Not a bad prequel surprisingly, but not the best.

The overall story is good and what happens from chapter to chapter is great to listen to, but I couldn't get past some of the words used to describe certain objects or settings such as "the thing", or "the place". At times like that it felt very lazy and pulled me out of the experience.

The narrator has a cool voice and he helps the tone, but no emotion is really given. Sometimes it sounds like he doesn't even try to distinguish characters cause it would break his cool guy vibe he's got going on or something, but overall he was good. Just good.
Just hope to see more from him in the future.

Entertaining

The story was very entertaining with a lot of action points. on occasion it would get confusing from time to time on the perspective of which character was in action. Meaning the narration between soldiers and Predator sometimes I got caught thinking the soldier was talking when in fact it was the Predators thoughts. Overall a good time.

Read After 'The Predator'

I listened to this book - marketed as an explanatory lead-in to the film novelization - *after* consuming that screen-to-page effort.. and actually found it more enjoyable than the recommended order would have been. Fantasy/SciFi mainstay author James A. Moore clearly took the film as inspiration for his tale surrounding efforts by 'Project Stargazer' to capture a live Yautja Warrior, but the book functions as a standalone - heavy on action & violence and relatively light on plot & characterization. Other than a couple of recurring characters, the book borrows more than it contributes.

To be certain, reader James Patrick Cronin is guilty of some overacting in this recording (particularly his stereotypical "soldier voice" interpretations) - but the sound quality for this Blackstone Audio Inc. product is well above average. You will enjoy the listen.

In toto, 'The Predator: Hunters and Hunted' is worthy of 6 stars out of 10. The switch in perspective from humans to alien and back again during combat in multiple timelines is handled well enough to make this a reasonable 'Plus' download - it's fun and action-packed - but not good enough to warrant a Credit when other options beckon. Regardless, you will get more out of the book if you consume Christopher Golden's book or watch the film first.

[Incidentally: While I admire Moore's attempts at humanizing the Predator's victims, providing sketched-out backgrounds (home town; wife's name; etc.) for the "Red Shirts" becomes headshakingly amusing after the first dozen or so]

Soooooo boooooring

Every marine introduced is accompanied by unnecessarily long description of why they have social issues and are douches. You lose track of who is who. They are all basically the same character. I tried. I quite half way through.
